Drawing

Hello Again, Everyone!

This is the first proper blog I've written and it feels kinda odd. Before I could talk about my website or some of the work I've been working on. To be clear, those projects are still being worked on there's just not much exciting to share for them and I've been working on my chronic oversharing problem. So, this blog post is mostly just going to be me rambling and ranting because it's nice to get it out in a semi-public space without having to worry about the baggage that comes with a normal social media site.

This past week contained my yearly checkup and that included a few blood tests that we run each year considering that I'm a pretty big dude. Unfortunatly, I'm not super fond of shots and needles in that particular region of my arm but it overall went well except for the nearly week old bruise I still have. Beyond that it was more of the same, I'm in pretty good health despite being pretty fat, but I should still work on that. I'm hoping to gather the energy to go to the gym more often again, it's just been difficult with the world being the way it is.

On a more positive note, since I prefer this blog to definitely be more positive, I've been picking up drawing again. Not to say I've ever been much of an illustrator, but it's nice to just doodle and draw for the sake of drawing. I'm also considering picking up Draw A Box's drawing course since it seems my main struggle has always been visualization and that is the entire focus of the course. At some point I may start posting my progress here, but we'll see.

I also have been tinkering with graphic design more and just enjoying the process of making. I've designed a couple shirts I had printed for myself that I like a lot and I'm working on developing stuff for Redbubble. I'm not sure if I'll make anything from it but I think it'll be nice to give it a shot. In this day and age, money is hard to come by, especially if you tend to not like working under someone else. That said, I'm happy my job working with Katie is going well! We don't make a ton of money and she still has her day job that allows us to live, but things are looking pretty good. I have been considering picking up a bartending job at a local bar I like, though there's a pretty good risk that I'm gonna struggle to work in a food service job like that again. That said, the owner is a pretty cool guy and I've been really liking bartending at home and I feel I could do well.

Other than that, Vapardy is hitting it's 10th episode tomorrow which is exciting, last week we had a new winner for the first time. It was unfortunately a little stacked against Viv (You can find her as OvejaDulce in most places), but she took it well. I'm sure she'll be back to being the final boss of trivia games this week as usual.

Otherwise, the weather has been less than stellar being both very hot and very humid while also raining pretty much any time I've wanted to be outside, including the days I normally work events. The exception is that the days that I tend to skip out on events due to the weather, it seems to change last minute to beautiful weather you couldn't complain about. Avoiding getting too specific, I do think cutting funding to services that make our weather system accurate and reliable has really been making my day job a lot harder to manage.

That said, we'll get through it, things have been rough, especially in the USA where I'm based, but we'll do what we can. I highly suggest if you're reading this to think about someone in your life going through a hard time and doing something to try to brighten their day. Things are scary right now and I'm sure they'd appreciate it.

Have a good one!
